Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about booking, pickup, and local driving rules in Dubai.

Most questions get answered here. We connect you with local operators — each partner sets their own terms. Always check your voucher for exact conditions.

How does the booking process work?

Pick your vehicle and dates, fill the form, pay the booking advance online. You receive a voucher by email within a few hours. The voucher names the operator, pickup address, and remaining balance due at the counter. You sign the rental agreement directly with that company.

Do I need a credit card or deposit?

No credit card or deposit at the counter for most bookings. That is the main reason people choose 4Drive Dubai. Your voucher will state if any hold applies — rare, but worth reading.

What documents do I need at pickup?

Passport, visit visa or entry stamp, original driving licence from your home country, and an International Driving Permit if your licence is not in English or Arabic. Residents show Emirates ID and UAE licence. Always bring the printed or mobile voucher.

What is the minimum driver age?

Twenty-one years for economy and compact models. Sports and luxury vehicles often require twenty-five. Check the vehicle description before booking; age rules vary by operator and category.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Contact us by email or phone as soon as your plans shift. Many operators allow free changes up to 48 hours before pickup. Cancellation terms depend on the partner and how far ahead you booked — details are in the voucher terms section.

What fuel policy applies?

Full-to-full is standard: you collect the vehicle with a full tank and return it full. ENOC and ADNOC stations are everywhere in Dubai. Keep the last fuel receipt until after drop-off in case the operator asks to see it.

Are toll gates and parking included?

Salik toll charges on Sheikh Zayed Road and other main routes get billed later through the operator — admin fee applies. RTA parking zones in Jumeirah, Deira, and Bur Dubai run Saturday to Thursday; download the RTA app or use SMS to pay. Neither cost is part of the rental rate.

Can I drive to other Emirates?

Yes. Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain are all fine. Hatta mountain route on E44 is popular. Oman trips need written permission from the operator — request it when you book if you plan to cross the border at Hatta or Al Ain.

What if the vehicle has a problem during my rental?

Call the operator immediately using the phone number on your voucher. Roadside assistance details are also printed there. Do not arrange repairs yourself; let the operator handle breakdowns, flat tyres, or warning lights.
